A bun is a small, sweet cake, which may sometimes be referred to as a cupcake or a fairycake. They are commonly sponge cakes, but can be made in a variety of flavours, such as chocolate, vanilla or lemon. Basic buns are made using flour, sugar, eggs and Butter, but the sponge mixture may be flavoured before baking using cocoa or other flavourings.
